The Board is delighted to announce the Pickleball Club's first annual fundraiser for charity. This effort is being led by Sheryl Strich (VP) who has put together a core team to work on this and will sending out more information as planning develops.
We wanted to fundraise for a local charity + for the firefighting community that unfailingly supports us. Our chosen charity is the
which provides physical, financial, and emotional support to its members and their families during times of need. If you didn't know already, cancer is a leading cause of death among firefighters.
Charity Day comprises two great events open to LWV residents and their guests:
Carnival!
A ticketed event to a fun night and throwback to our former days.
5:30pm on Sunday, June 8, Clubhouse One ballroom & patio.
FUN PLAYATHON!
Monday, June 8, 9am-12pm outdoor courts.
A pay-to-play fundraiser with112 playing slots, including OC firefighters. Enter the lottery to win a slot to play!
Lottery - May 16-29
Enter the Lottery event on our website. Open from 7am on Friday, May 16, thru 7pm on Thursday, May 29. Sign up at any time, it makes no difference.
May 30 - lottery draw for the players
June 1 - players notified (+ waitlist)
June 5 - payment due ($25 per player)
Playathon - Monday, June 9, 8am-12pm, outdoor courts
Players will be given a play slot 8am-10am or 10am-12pm
Timed, fun play with random card-drawing to play at your skill level
$25 per player includes a hotdog; $5 hotdogs for spectators.
